Scone Museum Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Preview of New Artwork

Last week the Scone & Upper Hunter Historical Society and Museum celebrated 70 years with a special luncheon opened by Dave Layzell MP.

Immersive artist Anna Fraser gave a presentation on Time Portal -  a major new permanent immersive installation to be housed in the historic Scone Lock-up.

Time Portal is a project by Anna Fraser and Suzannah Jones (Case Collective) in collaboration with the Scone Museum, funded by the New South Wales Government through CREATE NSW. Over the past six months Anna has been working closely with the Museum, researching the collection and running Procreate animation workshops with local students. Student works from these workshops will be featured at the Museum.

The Time Portal installation will officially launch on Sunday 21 June 2026 at 12pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Congratulations to the dedicated volunteers and Historical Society on reaching this wonderful milestone
