Time Portal Immersive Installation
Time Portal is a new permanent immersive installation at Scone Museum, created by immersive artist Anna Fraser, whose previous work includes large-scale projections for Vivid Sydney, the Sydney Opera House, and special effects for Hollywood films.
Housed in the historic Scone Lock-up, the installation transforms the old jail cell into a multi-sensory experience. Anna spent twelve months researching and speaking with members of the Scone & Upper Hunter Historical Society and the wider community. She also ran workshops with local youth, and selected works from these workshops can now be viewed in the Museum. The result of this deep exploration of time, place, and history — both present and past — is the immersive experience you can view at the Scone Museum during opening hours, or by appointment.
As one description puts it: “An artist reimagines fragments of the past through Time Portal, bringing Scone Museum’s rich heritage to life with digital projections. The on-site Scone Lock-Up is transformed into an immersive space, blending light, stories, and history.”
